UrsaLeo teams with Trineflex Consortium on digital twins

UrsaLeo has teamed up with Trineflex Consortium to deploy digital twin solutions for energy-intensive industrial projects.

The Trineflex Consortium is an initiative co-funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe program. This collaboration aims to facilitate the transformation of energy-intensive industrial processes within the consortium. The companies will use the technology to monitor and manage energy usage.

UrsaLeo’s digital twin solutions, fueled by Nvidia Omniverse Enterprise, aim to usher in a new era of immersive and collaborative experiences for consortium members, enabling them to monitor and manage energy usage efficiently. The deployment will leverage the cloud tech of the Nvidia Graphics Delivery Network (GDN) to enhance the way companies interact with and oversee intricate systems.

The initial phase involves UrsaLeo delivering digital twins to four end users within the Trineflex Consortium.

Projects under way

UrsaLeo is developing twins for Esamur’s water treatment plants, enabling real-time visualization of simulated data.

1. Esamur and Edyap: UrsaLeo is developing twins for their water treatment plants, enabling real-time visualization of simulated data. This initiative seeks to reduce energy consumption and enhance water quality at both locations.

2. Halcor: UrsaLeo is creating a twin for a copper pipe manufacturing plant, integrating real-time data to optimize energy consumption.

3. Verallia: UrsaLeo is crafting a twin for a glass manufacturing plant, incorporating real-time data to minimize energy consumption.

Key benefits of digital twins

UrsaLeo said its digital twins, powered by Nvidia Omniverse, provide an unprecedented level of fidelity, realism, and interactivity. This allows consortium members to virtually explore, analyze, and simulate their physical assets in a highly immersive 3D environment.

Once the buildings are operational, IoT data from sensors (e.g. energy sensors, air quality, temp/humidity, heat maps, HVAC units, etc.) can be visualized on the twin for interactive building management, energy monitoring, and much more.

And UrsaLeo said it will display both simulated and real-time data from Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, assisting in energy consumption reduction efforts.

UrsaLeo’s solution will foster collaboration and data sharing among consortium members. It enables real-time, cloud-based collaboration, irrespective of geographical locations.

Advanced digital twin technology empowers Trineflex Consortium members to make informed decisions swiftly, enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.

And UrsaLeo’s digital twin solutions seamlessly integrate with existing systems, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to consortium operations with interoperability.

“As a member of the Trineflex Consortium, UrsaLeo will help accelerate the delivery of cutting-edge digital twin solutions powered by Nvidia Omniverse to teams worldwide,” said John Burton, CEO of UrsaLeo, in a statement. “This collaboration showcases the capabilities of our technology, and we are committed to supporting the Consortium’s vision for enhanced efficiency, collaboration, and decision-making as it relates to energy usage and beyond.”

“Industrial processes are being revolutionized by a new era of digitalization,” said Link Robertson, product specialist for Omniverse and GDN at Nvidia, in a statement. “UrsaLeo’s solutions, powered by Nvidia Omniverse, will help companies create immersive digital twin experiences with improved collaboration, efficiency, and simulation capabilities.”
